Frequently Asked Questions

What can I store in the units?

Within reason you can store anything.To maintain the safety and cleanliness of our facility, we do have certain items that cannot be stored. These include:

Customers must not store (or allow any other person to store) any of the following:

Food or perishable goods unless securely packed so they are protected from and do not attract vermin

Any living creatures

Combustible or flammable substances such as gas, paint, petrol, oil, cleaning solvents or compressed gasesFirearms, explosives, weapons or ammunition

Chemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents; toxic waste, asbestos or other potentially hazardous substances

Any item that emits fumes, or odours

Any illegal item or substances or goods illegally obtained such as illicit (counterfeit/ smuggled) tobacco or alcohol and unlicensed or unsafe goods (such as medicines, aerosols or fireworks)

Goods which are environmentally harmful or that are a risk to the property of any person

Furs, paintings, jewellery, curios, works of art exceeding £10,000 in value any one item and/or £50,000 in total unless agreed to and accepted in writing by the business and their insurersCurrency, bullion or similar.

How much does the storage cost?

We have a variety of unit sizes available, ranging from 25sq ft to 200sq ft. Prices start from £65 per month. Please contact us for more information on prices and availability on hello@turnersselfstorage.co.uk or pop down to see us on site for a look around our facility.

Do you provide the padlocks?

Every tenant will be supplied with a padlock and key unique to them upon signing for their storage unit free of charge. If the keys are lost by the customer then a new padlock will be charge at £10.

Will my items be insured?

Tenants are responsible for insuring their items. Most household insurance company’s will cover your items in storage however if you need insurance we recommend visiting www.insurastore.com for a very competitive quote.

How secure will my belongings be?

All our units are INDIVIDUALLY alarm and monitored 24 hours a day by CCTV. All units will also be individually padlocked and no keys for tenant padlocks are kept by ourselves. During closed hours, along with the CCTV, the entire site is gated, locked and alarmed, Customers will be given a unique access code to enter and leave the building, this code sets and disables their own unit alarm, and also gives them access to their storage 7 days a week 7am-7pm

When are you open?

Turners Self Storage is open and accessible 365 days a year.

We are open 24 hours a day for customer access.Our phone and office line is open

Monday – Friday, 9am – 5.30pm
Saturday – 9am – 1pm
Sunday & Bank Holidays – Closed

What payment options are there?

Payment is taken per calendar month. Payment can be either Autopay via debit card, standing order or cash.

What are the cancelation terms?

The customer must give us 7 days notice to cancel their agreement and they will be charged up to the date given. Any refunds will be given upon the departure.

Do you offer any discounts?

We do not offer discounts for long periods or use of multiplie units. However, we do offer half price on the first month and we offer a price match guarantee.

Do I need to provide any form of identification when we book a storage Unit?

One form of Government-issued verification is required. For exmaple, passport or drivers license.

What Equipment do you have on site to help with loading and unloading?

We have a telehandler on site for large items. We also have large trolleys and manual pallet trucks to make it easier for you to load and unload your goods in to and out of storage.

Do you help with loading and Unloading?

We are more than happy to load and unload your goods to and from your storage unit. Please give us advanced notice if you require assistance as there may not always be somebody on site.

Do you have customer toilets on site?

Yes, we have toilet facilities for customers on site.
